Microneedling is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that promotes cellular turnover and collagen production.  Microneedling uses a pen like device that has tiny needles at the tip of the pen.  The needles can be adjusted to multiple depth levels depending on the skin condition and area being treated.

The science behind Microneedling is that it creates microchannels within the skin that signals the body to identify it as an injury.  The body then reacts to the so called “injury” and fights to combat it with collagen production, which a form of healing.

The collagen production results in skin benefits such as minimizing pore size, reducing wrinkles, improving skin laxity, and over all skin production.  Micro needling is also a great way to reduce the appearance of scars.  It works by breaking up the scar tissue underneath and minimizes the level of hardness and color, or can plump a scar that may have an indentation.

Microneedling can be used on most skin types and is great as a stand alone treatment, however it does not replace other treatments, as it is meant to enhance other skin care methodologies.

The down time varies from patient to patient and is typically not more than 1 to 3 days. It is a great skin refresher for anyone that has a special event.
